I agree with you completely. The best thing we as gamers can do is educate people about our hobby. Older generations don't understand it and thus, on some levels, fear this rising industry. The opposition has had a chance to give their side, now it is time for us to give ours.

On the blame front, you are completely correct. I would also like to add the lack of role models in today's society. We have sexually deviant priests, arsonist firefighters, corrupt politicians, child mol...

Both systems are neck and neck right now; virtually identical. The only real thing I saw in this article is that 360 might have a slight advantage graphically which you wouldn't notice unless the two were running side by side. Who does that at home? The gameplay, well that sounds to me that this reviewer likes the 360 control pad better. That's fine, but it is also just his opinion. So, what is the point of these comparisons anymore?

Besides, who cares about this game anyway?

MS, Sony, or Nintendo; I'm not buying another machine for a few years unless mine craps out for whatever reason. This is a far too expensive hobby to start throwing out more cash for new hardware every four years and then $60+ for each game. I have a library of ten games and if I add up what I've spent on everything, it is about $1200.00 just to have a comfortable starting point in this generation of hardware. If any of them think I'm going to that again in two years, they are out of their mi...

not a totally bad read. It is nice to see video games getting press outside of the niche market. I don't feel the writer did enough research into the market as a whole to make some of his sweeping generalizations. I've been researching and playing games for about 20 years now, and it always strikes me as amusing when people act like this is a "new" thing. Yes, it is a relatively young media, but they make it sound like it just popped up a couple years ago. It makes me wonder if they...

Many are just based on the motion control gimmick. Solid games for the Wii are just the old Nintendo franchises. Great games, no doubt. It has nothing to do with a graphical comparison to PS3 and 360. There are just a lot of crappy games coming out on the system. The amount of fun you have playing a game is what review scores (for the most part) are based on, not technical power.

is they better not screw this up! So many things could go wrong with a new version of a gaming classic like this. I hope they can pull it off and still have that classic Golden Axe flavor. I fear, however, it will turn out to be just another hack and slash adventure.

it was killed by its own hype. Everyone thought it would be hugely original and innovative, and when it came out and was not perfect like people expected, it got slammed for it. Solid game, not exceptional, but solid.

After reading the article they are blasting, I didn't see anything to really disagree with. The report doesn't criticize video games and call them bad, as a matter of fact, quite the reverse! Actually, as a educated gamer, I find this article to be more offensive than the one they are attacking. The Doctor in the study actually says that new media always gets scapegoated, even saying the TV used to get blamed and books before that. I'm just as upset (and probably even more so) about video gam...

Haven't they noticed that EA is murdering the licence. NFL Tour and that Head Coach debacle! I loved playing football on my old systems, but recently sold my copy of Madden 08 after only 2 or 3 months. It just wasn't fun. I love football, and used Madden in years past to get through the off-season withdrawals, but this year, I'll just have to put up with the DTs!

This game was mega-hyped six months ago until the delays killed it. I've been playing games and following the industry for about 20 years, and I've seen nothing to show "its obvious this game is not going to be good." This was a hugely anticipated game until the delays. I certainly don't see any significant problems with the game. The videos and screenshots look solid, and as long as it handles well, I think it will be a success. Not sure if I will get it; I'll have to wait for a fe...

Great times! There were so many though. To try to come up with only 14; that's tough. Definitely thought Parasite Eve, Oddworld, and Bushido Blade deserved mention. Those on the list are great, but these three altered, changed, and innovated the entire industry and what video games could do.

The Sam Fisher one was way off. Sam is a grizzled war vet with harsh wear shown on his face and they compare his to the baby face kid from American Pie? Wow. That was bad!

They said it worked very well and the game is very good. If it's not your style, don't play it. I think it is a great idea. Saying a game will suck without ever having played it is immature, and if that's the type of comment you wish to post, fine, but go to the open zone.

I did find it odd that the "reviewers" of this game admit to only playing it for forty minutes before writing the review. Um, that's a little unprofessional! I know I can't really gather an opinion ...

I do know that they had better not abandon the 360 like they did the original xbox. The PS3 is starting to pick up steam using only 30% of its total power. The 360 is running about at the max due to its relatively simple programming code. I would not be surprised to see a new xbox in 2 or 3 years. I don't think most consumers will really need the new hardware, but if PS3 continues its rise and improves beyond 360's capabilities, MS may feel their hand is being forced.

On the ot...

Don't make generalizations based on a few jerks out there. I'm American and I don't consider the USA to be the whole world. I don't agree with most of what our government has done, but that doesn't change anything. Yes, arrogance is a disease running through the US, but don't include all Americans. There are other diseases that are similar that run through the whole world; intolerance, racism, and ignorance.

the 360 is running out of rabbits to pull from its hat. 360 had its advantage by releasing first, but the fact remains, Sony has a larger fan base. The PS3 will prove its worth this year with awesome exclusives and (with the developers getting the hang of the hardware) better graphics. Yes, the multiplatform releases have in general been better on the 360...until now. Now they are on equal ground with titles like Burnout and Devil May Cry, but soon, as the PS3 reveals its secrets to developer...

Didn't really show much. OK, you can throw people into anything you want. Cool, but what else?

but I think Burnout is a little young to be called successful franchise. Compared to the others listed, it just hasn't been around long enough to be matched with the others.

As I said above, they are already getting desperate to think of something to attack the PS3 with. Why? Because, on the horizon lies their beloved 360's demise. It's the PS3, guns a blazing! Once the PS3 surpasses it in graphics, what's left. It has already been matched in a very short time. This time next year, half these 360 fanboys will probably OWN a PS3.
